Kyle has more than 40 years of real estate experience and is an expert in master planning and Smart City innovations. He oversees the site selection, strategic planning, and underwriting of each new community the firm acquires.
Kyle is an artist, designer, and musician and is passionate about creating beautiful environments that provide rich and rewarding experiences for the people who live and work there. He has acquired more than 140 real estate projects totaling more than 40,000 residential units and 20 million square feet of commercial development. At all times he is striving to create successful communities that will be viewed favorably for many generations to come.
VP of Sustainable Development
Elena completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University on sustainable urban development and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Future Cities Lab Singapore-ETH Centre. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Melbourne University, a Master’s in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, and a Laurea in Architecture from the University of Architecture in Venice (Italy). Elena’s work focuses on system thinking, urban analytics, and placemaking. In the recent years, Elena led a comprehensive plan for strategic place activations for major mixed-use projects, with a focus on sustainable design guidelines and custom programmatic solutions. During the past 15 years, Elena gained extensive international experience researching, teaching, and working for practices and institutions worldwide.
VP of Strategic Communications
After multiple decades of marketing in the tech industry, Lynn has combined her passion for marketing along with racquet sports and golf by focusing on the development of private lifestyle clubs and communities. She is a seasoned marketing executive with over 25 years of experience across publicly traded and privately held companies, ranging in size from startups to large enterprises, including Microsoft. Lynn has held several senior leadership roles and has experience in global rebranding, mergers & acquisitions, as well as driving marketing efforts for an IPO. She is an avid tennis fan and has found instant joy in playing pickleball. At Lakewood, she oversees strategic marketing communications, branding, and research.
VP of Architecture and Construction
Alex received his Master’s Degree in Architecture in a joint degree program between the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and the University of Kyushu (Japan). He brings experience in mixed-use building development, designing and detailing projects, and construction management in both the public and private sectors. Alex’s expertise is the result of the last decade of work experiences in the US and internationally. Previously, he worked for Elkus Manfredi Architects (Boston) contributing in the design of mixed-use projects mainly in Boston, New York City and Washington D.C. Prior to coming to the US, he was an employee at Travtus Management Group as a Construction Project Manager, leading the renovation of commercial and institutional buildings in Singapore. Alex has worked for various offices worldwide, in Portugal, Japan, China, Myanmar, Australia, Singapore, and the US.
VP of Engineering and Development
Gary graduated from the University New Hampshire with a BS in Civil Engineering. He has extensive expertise in all aspects of a development project, from zoning entitlements all the way to final construction project closeouts for both residential and commercial properties. Gary is full of entrepreneurial spirit, having founded two companies: Better Life Properties and Liberty St. Development. At Better Life Properties, he focused on residential construction, rehabs, and rentals. Liberty St. Development was focused on large land entitlement projects for residential, multifamily, industrial, and commercial properties.
AVP, Project Management
Preston is an experienced project manager, technology expert (Smart Cities), and a gifted marketing strategist. He is particularly adept at the coordination of the contributions of consultants and partners to expedite the approvals needed to build large, mixed-use projects. He is also a pilot (fixed-wing and helicopter) and is world-renown for his innovations in drone technology (videos for marketing and surveys for planning). Through a media company he founded before he became a developer, he worked on major feature films and commercials and he won an Emmy for one such project. Preston has worked in Spain, Russia, Columbia, S. Africa, China, Tahiti, Dubai, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Iceland, and France.
AVP, Project Management
Doug received a civil engineering degree from the University of New Hampshire. His collective expertise is a result of working with a wide variety of firms, including civil engineering, general contractors, developers, and national builders. Doug worked on multiple projects for the United States Forest Service (USFS) in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He was the construction manager for Reed Development at Hampton Lake, a 1,000-acre multi-million-dollar sub-division with a 165-acre fresh water man-made lake as part of its amenity package. Doug worked for Pulte Homes as their Land Development Manager for the Bluffton, South Carolina/Savannah, Georgia market, where he oversaw a dozen different communities with multiple phases. Doug successfully closed out the longest standing USACE wetland permit in South Carolina at Sun City Hilton Head.
